Datapoint 2200 and the origins of x86

Hi everyone,

Just stumbled upon another interesting part of computer history.:

The Datapoint 2200 terminal, a computer composed of a hundred TTL chips.

Also, it was the inspiration for the 8008 which in turn was the predecessor
of the 8080/Z80 and in the end, the x86 architecture.

And last, but not least, some curious facts..
* "The 8008 (originally called 1201) chip design started before the 4004 development"
* The instructions set was designed by CTC people, rather than intel staff
* It used shift registers as a form of RAM.. 😀
