They already had acquired BradyGames a few years ago if I'm not mistaken? Who else is left in this business? It's unfortunate because while you never were really going to get a superior strategy guide to what you could find on the internet, I saw them as the last connect to the time of game manuals with beautiful color artwork and interesting tidbits -- something completely lost in this era of digital downloads. Some of their special edition hardcover guides were particularly nice.

Heh. It's a good thing I managed to get those Mortal Kombat reference cards before they did. 🤣

I'm surprised they survived this long. As you said, the business has mostly become one of beautiful artwork / tidbits, not actual strategy. In our fast-paced world any printed encyclopedic article is outdated before the ink has dried. But it does make me sad, because I can appreciate a beautiful guide.
