Was out snapping pics of tonight's total lunar eclipse. Thought these were too good not to share. Taken from my balcony with a 14-year-old Nikon E8800 that I found in the trash, on a $10 tripod from a second-hand shop. Sometimes it doesn't cost the moon (hah!) to get good results.

^^ this final shot during totality is a 4-second exposure. I had an 8-second one too, but it washes out the color, this is pretty close to what I can see with my eye.

It's still visible and will be for another hour or so - go outside & look up! 😀
