Syndicate. Mmmmm, Syndicate... Dosbox brought that one back to me, and boy am I glad... one of the first (and best IMHO) RTS games available for DOS.

Prince of Persia 1 and 2 were cool.

There was an old DOS game called "Alley Cat" for my XT that I enjoyed...

And I can't forget about Sierra games: Kings Quest 1-6 (7 and mask didn't do it for me), Space Quest (1-3, everything after got too cheesy), Police Quest 1 and 2. All good.

And you can't forget about LucasArts games... The entire Monley Island series, Loom, and Sam & Max were all spectacular games...

So I loved the cheesy games. I grew up off of King's Quest 7 and Space Quest 4 by Sierra and found that quite fun. It's not about seriousness of the game it's about how the game talks to you 😉.

I loved the Ultima ( 6, 7, and 8 ) games from Origin 😎 for the PC and the earlier ones on the Commodore 64.
Also Crusader Series and the Wing Commander Series were tops. Not to forget WC: Privateer 😉.

Also don't forget the old Apogee gems like Commander Keen and Wolfenstein 3D.
The list just goes on and on and on. Too many games to recount and so many years to remember.

And darn it i'm only 21.

If you like turn-based strategy, X-COM: UFO Defense is a must, and of course Civilization and Masters of Magic. The Settlers is a nice real-time [economy/strategy] simulation. Indiana Jones: Fate of Atlantis is my favourite adventure, and then there is Ultima, as priestlyboy says. With all the graphics patches on the net, even the older Ultimas look decent on a PC (in dosbox 😀 ). Hmm... I didn't like Wolfenstein, but Doom, yeah. Only Doom is better played via Doomsday (jDoom), not in dosbox.

and robertmo .., just today im reading this and ..just a few minuts i find out another world had a part II, heart of the aliean, and that theres a game called flashback ...that its similiar..
