Hi,

As stated in the title, I have been busy trying to figure out the inner workings of an old MS-DOS game (Cartooners) and am looking for someone to help me with a few driver files that I can't figure out myself. Several people on various sites have already been kind of enough to help out, and hopefully someone here with the right knowledge and skills can help me out here.

To the point:
There are a couple of old soundcard drivers (*.smb files) that I have been trying to disassemble. My knowledge here is limited. Someone else (bisqwit on Youtube) already had a shot at this a year ago. All I remember is that the driver files contained MIDI data and x86 code. Possibly some information got lost. I have been doing this in my spare time since 2015 (with a lot of other stuff in between 😉).

Then there are the printer drivers (*.lpt files), of which there are a dozen or so. Beyond the fact that they all contain the printer's full model name and are all the same size (162 bytes), I know nothing about these files. They probably contain no x86 code, but likely information regarding a specific printer model's capacities. But this is guesswork.

So, anyone like to help out?

btw:
I can provide more information about this project in general if necessary.

Do not read if you don't like attention seeking self-advertisements!

Did you read it anyway? Well, you can find all sorts of stuff I made using various programming languages over here:
