It was kind of Uncharted 2D side view.
Big main character, about half the height of a screen.
Good cinematic animation of main character.
Good graphics quality almost like the one from Heart of Darkness.
Very linear story/action, almost like Dragon's Lair just with the ability to control the character.

In a rather beginning of the game the character had to jump up in a right part of the screen to climb a tree branch.
Are you sure you don't need to jump to the left? (not trolling, I have a game in mind)

game was way dumber (if not dumbest), you just went forward.
but gfx was way better and had diversed sceneries
After climbing a tree branch he was standing on that branch in a "chamber/room" above.
I think it started in a park.
I think there were only over ground locations like maybe building construction, harbour and ship deck.
i think the main character could do some melee fight and gun shooting
i guess the game was from about 1996
i think it was for one platform only (cannot tell if pc or console)
