Old computer hardware is boring and it's all been done before.

Speak for yourself there bud. I'm part of his audience, and I'm not loose at all. IMO, his videos have gotten leagues better in the last few years. I skipped over the Thrifts videos for a long time because I thought, eh, who cares? LGR goes to Goodwill. Big deal. I go to stores too. Turns out, they're actually quite entertaining, and it inspired me to start checking out thrift stores and old computer shops. Came home a couple days later with a Dell Trinitron CRT.

This is the same place that was posted about a while ago that was going to be liquidated because the original owner had health issues or some such.

Then somebody else took it over at the last moment. (Edit.. or not.. the same family is still "operating" it)

He starts talking about this at around the 5 minute mark - watching it now.

Awesome!

If I would find a place like that in Europe, then I would rent the biggest van that I can find and rev up my credit card 😊

Yeah, The Thrift stores in Silicon Valley only sell clothes mainly. and there are few around. Real-estate is too expensive. So the best place to shop thrift stores is on eBay or craigslist or computer recycle'ers. There use to be many used computer shops in Silicon Valley but real-estate is to expensive so they can't afford to operate here. But allot of old hardware is NOT functional and needs repair as you can see from LGR videos.

Maybe LGR could shop computer recycle centers. They seem to have all the good stuff.

Hey, You can't knock the iPad. Even LGR uses one and a Macbook Pro. Why? Because he know they just work and works well.
I don't understand what "Lazy Game reviews" has to do with old electronics that don't run games ?

I did end up making it out there for one of their weekend sales about month ago and came home with some goodies. It's a nice treasure trove, but a lot of the "low hanging fruit" has been picked. Don't get me wrong though - there is still tons of stuff there!

AMD386/IIT387DX40, 32MB, ATi Mach64, AWE64
Compaq Prolinea 4/33, 32MB, Tseng ET4000, SB16
AMD X5, 64MB, S3 Virge/Voodoo1, AWE64
AMD K62+550, 256MB, Voodoo3, AWE64 Gold
P3 1.2Ghz, 512MB, Radeon 7500/Voodoo2 SLI, SB Live!

But on topic. OH MY FREAKING GLOB! I would have loaded a semi with stuff from there. And he takes home a McAfee Virusscan. That place is a retro gold mine.

Clint must have been broke 😁

Man I would have bought a pallet of COMPAQ x86 pc's all day long. Keep one for myself and sell the rest. Get some NOS CRT monitors, keyboards, CD-ROM drives, floppy drives, memory etc.

You'll never find such a place again; when the family decides that it's finito, then you'll regret it for not buying more.

Bumping this. Is this Computer Reset? As depicted in this LGR video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvM82T3C2Ik

I can't imagine it being anything else. It sure looks like it.

Yeah, watching that Video from LGR was an adrenaline Rush! Ah so many awesome stuff so little time...
I wish I was there with a machine that could stop time when I wanted, so I could go through all that stuff. Imo for 1 person It would take at least 5 years of hard work just to go through and catalog, test and make a listing on eBay.
It would be very nice if Clint went back there and did a longer episode and got more stuff.

I am NOT knocking LGR. I think he is a very informative reviewer of old electronics, games, and products.
I just think YouTube has become a mess. Channels lists one thing and then they produce videos about something else. It’s a mess to navigate. YouTube should take reposibility for listing each video individually and then categorizes it. They can leave the video within the creators channel but YouTube should be responsible for categorizing them.

Clint/LGR already has no space to put crap, why would he bring back pallet loads of stuff just because its a warehouse full of NOS PCjr's. Did you expect him to save everything in the warehouse??
