As the yearly tradition on Vogons dictate to me. Then again I have made an X-mass tread for all....

I know it is not december the first yet, though better too early than too late. 😀

HAPPY X-MASS 2019 EVERYONE....

Merry Christmas 2019 to all as well.

Decided to pull up some of the great vintage PC Christmas demos such as Jingle Disk and the Tandy advertisement Christmas demo "A Tandy Bear Christmas". My two all time favorites.

Anyway, I remember purchasing the Jingle Disk at a Hallmark store back in 1985 and being very impressed by the greetings-on-a-disk concept. So recently when I was running it in DOSBox from a disk image I noticed the CGA color palette was not the one I remembered. At first I thought there was some key combo you could use or a command line switch to use alternate CGA palettes, but nothing I could find. Then the light bulb went on. I had a PCjr at the time. Could it be that the PCjr displayed the Jingle Disk in the other CGA palette? So I put DOSBox in the PCjr machine mode and sure enough there it was. I think it looks much better. Three CGA variant palettes depending on the machine mode in DOSBox. I find cpu "cycles = 200" is fairly close to the original demo speed.

machine = pcjr

The tree is up and finished, and the house Elf (nisse) got mad because we forgot to bring him some rice porridge.
So he made the milk turquoise as his revenge. 😁 😁 😁 (one of those practical pranks, adults can make each year)

It’s not Christmas without a giant 53” teddy bear from Costco.
