Hello everyone,

I've found two incredible
dummy head recordings online that I like to share.

For those of you that wonder what I'm talking of:

Dummy head recordings, also often just called binaural recordings,
are made by using an artificial head that contains two microphones;
one for each "ear" of the head.
These "ears" often mimic the human's ear canal in great detail.

A cheaper variant also exists.
It uses two microphones and a separation wall between them.

A dummy head recording is special, since it can reproduce a
surround sound that is somewhat realistic to the human hearing.
You can not only hear what happens left and right, but also below and above,
behind and infront of you and a mixture of each.
Hence it was used for radio dramas once.

Makes me wonder why this technique is so rarely seen in our smartphone age,
where about everyone walks with a pair of headphones through daily life.

Best regards,
