Has anyone else played this game?

I don't remember when or why but at some point when I was a kid my mom bought me a copy of this game.

I played the crap out of it. I was enthralled by everything I could discover in it.

This game is massive. It's got so many hidden things to discover, so many paths you can take. To this day I don't think I have ever discovered every last situation you can get out of this game.

The story is good. The gameplay is good. The imagery is amazing. The history is enthralling. The voice acting is good. Everything you do has to be timed and executed just right, otherwise you will lose... and that results in a very thrilling adrenaline aspect to it.

I'm convinced it's one of the best games ever made.

Now it's kind of unique because it is a 32-bit game, made in 1996. Developed (I think) for Macintosh originally, and ported to Win32 systems. My copy is the Windows version. It is happiest on Windows 9x, and really only works perfectly and reliably on that platform. WinXP causes issues with it, and anything newer I'm pretty sure just does not work.

BUT it will also run on Windows 3.1, using Win32s. It is difficult to get it to run reliably, however. So it's kind of a "test" for me as to whether I have everything configured exactly right and stably on my Windows 3.1 machines, if I can get Titanic to run.

I just have so many memories attached to this game. Playing it is always a fun experience even today.

Anyone else love this game?

GOG has it available and states it works on Windows 7, 8, 9.

They also say it requires a 1.8 GHz CPU, 512 MB RAM, and a DX7 graphics card. 🤣!

Pretty sure it needs a 486 with 8 or maybe 16 megs of RAM. And it will run without DirectX, albeit more slowly.

Yeah, those are probably requirements to run Windows 7/8/10, not the actual game.
