I'd like to play through the major Sierra adventure games (specifically KQ, SQ, and LSL), but one thing I dislike is "dead end" situations (I don't mind deaths at all). It's not so much getting the game stuck in an unwinnable state, as it is not knowing that I've got the game in an unwinnable state that bothers me! For example, I got stuck early in KQ5 when I didn't realize that I had only one chance to save the mouse from the cat.

Having said that, is there any site or document that just lists these dead end situations? I don't want to follow a walkthough step by step, but it would make these games a lot more enjoyable for me if I could just read a few lines before starting a game saying "make sure to have this and that item before you leave this part" or the like. I see that King's Quest Omnipedia has a list for the KQ games (https://kingsquest.fandom.com/wiki/Dead_end), so I was wondering if there was anything similar for other games?

Dealing with the cartridge at the start of Space Quest was a big one (a form of copy protection, but even then it's not immediately obvious a requirement to first time legit players)

The designs of early sierra games were... you die a lot.

If you dont want dead ends... follow a walk through, otherwise whats the point? They were pretty good at not getting you into an unwinnable state. they just killed you off.
