I had a small ARM board that I wanted to convert into a fully functioning machine in case, with build in power supply and SATA drive for storage.
I used an OrangePI-Plus2, Meanwell 5-volt PSU and a simple 120gb SATA drive. (and tons of epoxy)

The OrangePI have the following spec's:
1.6ghz Quad Core ARM CPU.
2gb Ram.
16gb eMMC onboard storage.
SATA connector (runs through USB HUB, not the fastest)
4 x USB 2.o ports.
WIFI and more Board LINK

During the build process, I found that super glue is not friends with hardened epoxy glue. I found a way to glue. Just take some cotton and place it between the two surfaces. Then add a drop of super glue, and it instantly becomes hard. Normally one would use baking soda, however cotton works in the exact same way. So far the 5 volt out, are trimmed in, and the machine it self are build. I only need to install the 220/240 volt wiring and a fan to keep it extra cool when running. My plan is to use it as a server. A real custom build one. 😁 For storing photos, a bit of music and so on.

Does the Orange Pi have a RiscOS port available?

I have never investigated that, so I can not tell if there is any.

Looking at riscosopen.org, it doesn't seem to be possible. Which is a bit of a shame.

I can always use a different board at some point. Personally I am more interrested, if there is any BSD Unix avaliable for OPI-Plus2 boards. Reason being that Unix is the first real multiuser and multitasking OS. So far, I will stick to Linux, because I know it. Else I can always convert it into an emulation station console. I will just slap on some thin sheets of wood. You know, that 1mm thick sheets of woodgrain, made from real wood. Finally install some kind of awesomme led and power button solution.

A woodgrain Mame station. How awesomme does that not sound? 😁

BSD support looks good:
FreeBSD requires an appropriate bootloader[1] layered into the generic ARMv7 flash image[2].

[2] https://download.freebsd.org/ftp/releases/arm … ENERICSD.img.xz

OpenBSD appears to be doable with some jumping through hoops:

NetBSD looks very similar to FreeBSD:

Thanks for the links. I will dive deep into it at some point. First I need to take a look at different stuff. Like DaVinci video editing and another RGBtoHDMI internal solution for Amiga500-ECS.
