Pretty sure sure that this has already been officially announced (IE going way in Windows 10).
They removed it from the taskbar and menus when Edge "replaced" it, but it's actually still there.
Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.
It does look like FTP works in IE mode in edge. IE mode should continue to work in edge once Internet Explorer is removed from Windows 10.
Add the FTP site to the list and it should open in IE mode.
