I searched and searched for this patch ralfix2.zip but could not find it, either. I would like to revisit this game with the car damage patch fix also. Perhaps it was on an old BBS or compilation CD from years ago. As it was only a 9kb zip file, it may sadly be lost to time unless someone here can resurrect it by uploading it to this forum.

I've started comparing 'similar' save files in a hex editor to try and work out the bytes that control for damage.

However, in my case, there ended up being at least 21 altered strings (just after one race with same car etc.) so it's proving a bit tricky.

The file is probably backed up at Internet Archive. It's just too bad you can't do a search across eveyrthing. I'd try and find other webpages covering this game and look for downloads.

This is great news - the game has some of the longest rally stages ever (approaching 60km in certain cases), so remove damage patch can be especially helpful.

Wow! Good sleuthing, vetz! Internet archive has come to the rescue so many times, it's sublime. Where would we be without that wonderful, life-saving service? They're even better than Google, but I do wish you could search them like you can Google. As in, putting in a filename, keyword(s), date ranges, and / or logic, etc. Instead of just a single url.
