Hi,

I am trying to find a Dual Head PCI card.
There seems to be plenty of PCI-e.

Do they even exist?
I thought there was one with Dual DVI connections, but I can't find it or remember the brand.

Cheers,
Craig

Thanks mate for replying.

Sorry, I should have been a bit more specific.

Primary use: Programming Win 3.x / DOS using dual monitors.

Maybe games, but nothing special. I am not really interested in games. I think the only game I ever played back in the 1990's the most was X-Wing.

But anyway, I have a Dell D800 and PD01X Expansion Station, that has a single PCI slot and I want to use Windows 3.1 with Dual Monitors.
I know that Matrox make drivers for Win 3.1 (I have a Dual head PCI-e G400 in another system running Win3.1), but their dual Head cards, as far as I could find out, start with PCI-e.

I am not sure if any other dual head cards have Win 3.1 drivers. All I could find was add-on cards, like the Voodoo 1.

I appreciate the help.

I like my radeon 7500 pci, it has dv and vga and can do dual monitor. There are a few quad monitor units also. I think even a 8 monitor unit. Though it uses weird connectors.

I’ve tried a loooot of pci cards and this 7500 is by far the best one I’ve tried. Fastest, least amount of issues.

Here are those crazy colorgraphic firegl? Cards

Anyway, I have the 4 port version. I never have been able to get it to work right though.

The trick will be finding dual head video cards with Windows 3.1 drivers.

Thanks for that.
But, there doesn't seem to be a Windows 3.1 driver. Nothing here in the Driver section, Win9.x and above. And a search on the web.

Yea, finding a PCI and Win 3.x driver combination is the problem.

Oh sorry, didn’t see the part about 3.x in later reply.

Um, well what about two video cards?

All good.

Yea, I don't think it can be done in Win 3.x. Well unless it is a S/VGA and Hercules card, 2 cards.
I only have one PCI slot in the PD01X Expansion Station.

Colorgraphic MEGA Lightning, Pro Lightning V+, and Pro Lightning 868 have 3.1 drivers. At least according to Colorgraphic's old sites.

Seems like a super rare card.

The G400 was never available in PCI-E, AFAIK. I assume you have an AGP variant .

There is a multi-monitor PCI G200 MMS card, but it does not have have Windows 3.1 drivers . Maybe you could convince the Windows 3.1 drivers for one of the AGP only G200 multi-monitor variants to work on the G200 MMS under Windows 3.1 with multi-monitor support (big maybe).

See https://www.matrox.com/cs/video/apps/drivers/ … perating_system for available drivers for Windows 3.1 .

G200 MMS will act as four separate video cards, because it's just multiple GPUs working on PCI-PCI bridge. Each is compatible with G200 driver.

Appian Graphics had a bunch of dual VGA video cards back then, including products based on Savage 4 and Permedia 2.

Your correct. It's AGP NOT PCI-e.

Sorry about that.

Actually, PCI variation of G400 was available, but only as Matrox offering for professional video production, i.e. not a video card in typical sense. Boards like RTX1000 and such.

"Did I stutter?"

I still had the OP's G400 PCI Express reference (which he clarified as being AGP) in mind, so felt I need a confirmation.

I should have been clearer as to why I was asking .

Sorry if I offended you .
