I've noticed on AGS (Adventure Game Studio) 2.7x games, part of the period where only DirectDraw 5 was utilized for software rendering, which don't implement their own dialog boxes (e.g. save/load screens), the higher the resolution, the longer it takes to render the screens. As these games lack any kind of scaling options outside a resolution choice, I had to upscale them using DGVoodoo2, specifically WIP41.

This behavior was testing using games from the John DeFoe quadrilogy by Yahtzee. (5 Days a Stranger, 7 Days a Skeptic, and 6 Days a Sacrifice, specifically.)

Also, I experienced the same render lag running on my integrated (and only) GPU, though at the 320x200 and 640x400 resolutions, the lag is noticeable, but fast enough that it's more an annoyance than an issue.
