I have a Pentium 3 Windows 98 build and installed Half-Life WON with the 1.1.1.0 patch and the background music MP3s. The MP3s were set up by somebody else and advertised as working. Yet, the music does not play in game even with the setting turned on. I don't have any other CDs in the drives or images mounted in Daemon Tools.

I have no idea how to debug this; is there a log or something somewhere? I feel like I'm missing a driver or something. I am using Phil's VXD driver pack for Sounder Blaster Live.

Thanks; I have seen that thread. I believe my MP3s are in the correct place and I have the correct patch. I will try a different installation from scratch and see if anything changes.

Did you fully remove the id tags? Half-Life's old mp3 playback method really doesn't like them.
