I still use version 9 regularly. The only annoyance is (of course) that it doesn't support WEBP and AVIF files.
Is this too much voodoo?

Version 9 works on Windows 98 and Me without problem.
For Windows 95 you need version 7.
ETA: Version 8 apparently also works on Windows 95 but I have not tested this.
ETA2: ^^ That is wrong. Here is OS compatibility for PSP 6 to 9:
- Paint Shop Pro 6
- Windows 95 or NT 4
- Paint Shop Pro 7
- Windows 95 or NT 4
- Paint Shop Pro 8
- Windows 98 or NT 4
- Paint Shop Pro 9
- Windows 98 SE or Windows 2000

Don't leave these on windows 10, the version was 5.0 something. At one point they were deleted. Not the anti-malware since I legally owned it long ago.

I have PSP7 installed on every PC I have, up to Win10, it does so much while being easy enough to wrap my head around how to use it.
Got the retail big box on the shelf 😀

PSP 4 is the last one I remember using... think that was because it was the last one that ran on 3.11... maybe. I don't know why I didn't use a 9x version, but by late 9x era I was using GIMP.

Anyone know places to get them? more importantly, which version of photoshop plugins work with psp7?

I wanted to make some cool stuff with screenshots and that.
If not, whats the latest version that will work?
Haha, that's fine! I'm using PSP 7.04 for nearly two decades on Win98SE and WinXP. It's a medium tool - you can do alot with it, but it's not heavy weighted like Photoshop. Don't forget to install the 7.04 update!
kind regards
