My Windows 98SE system now has a new problem: during startup, Windows gives me a protection error. This happens even in Safe mode. 🙁 I tried to create a log file during startup but couldn't find it. This occurred just after I installed a Windows-based RAM drive and a theme and tried an emulator that crashed the system. I was able to uninstall the RAM drive, but that didn't work, and that's when Safe mode stopped working. What can I do to fix the problem? I really want Win98 so I can experiment with disk compression on it. It is way hi-end but can't do some of the basics I want it to do, including UMBs and EMS in Windows mode, which future experiments would need.
