Hello. Generally some time years ago I have managed to find my super old PC and decided to make it work again, with Windows 98se, so one could play old DOS/Windows games on it. Everything works pretty okay except for one, but extremely irritating thing - the PC doesn't know how to shutdown properly.
Generally when I use shutdown it either hangs up on "PC is closing" screen or reboots itself. Interesting enough it cannot shutdown properly even with FAST SHUTDOWN turned OFF.
I have installed an W98se update which should fix shutdown issues, but PC hangs up on shutdown anyway. Same goes when trying to reboot.
I'm not sure what I should do. I thought it may have been because of unknown USB device, but removing it didn't change a thing. Any ideas what can I do?
Oh also sometimes on reboot my PC screams unearthly. I think it has something to do with keyboard? Sometimes when keyboard doesn't work it screams. Then I run it again and it seems to work fine. Not sure tho.
My specs are:
AMD Duron 1.4GHz
512MB RAM
NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 M64
CMI8738/C3DX Audio Device
Gigabyte GA-7ZM.
