I've had a DR-DOS 7.03 install running fine on my 1000TL for several months.

Suddenly, it hangs after the "Starting DR-DOS" prompt, where you'd normally hit F5/F8/etc. to skip startup files.

It doesn't respond to either of those keypresses either.

Normally I'd just chalk this up to "something went wrong" but I'm unable to boot even the DR-DOS 7 install disks, or a simple floppy sys'd from another working machine with just command.com on it.

MS-DOS 6.22 and Tandy's DOS 3.3 boot perfectly fine.

Anyone experience anything like that?

Are you using a SD/CF card in you Tandy ? If so, did it got in contact with a Windows or Macintosh machine recently ?
Just asking, I think I vaguely remember that other DOS versions used their own media descriptor type or FAT ID, etc. ..
Perhaps this could be somehow related to your problem. It might be that DR-DOS gets scared off by an unknown or foreign FAT partition.

Anyway, it's just a wild guess.. No idea, what's really wrong here. 😅
