I spent some time discovering the optimal hardware combination for playing of Redneck Rampage in pure dos.
The Redneck Rampage uses the same "Build" 3d engine as Blood. Also has the HUD flicker problem on certain hardware.

The hardware I tested that worked without HUD flickering:
Resolution 1024x768:
3dfx Voodoo3 2000 AGP
nvidia FX5200 AGP
nvidia GT6600 AGP
Intel 865 onboard VGA chipset, motherboard Intel D865GSA

Resolution 1280x1024:
3dfx Voodoo3 2000 AGP
Intel 865 onboard VGA chipset, motherboard Intel D865GSA

Resolution 1600x1200:
Intel 865 onboard VGA chipset, motherboard Intel D865GSA

I would have never guessed that, but Intel D865GSA motherboard with internal VGA and P4 3.6GHz is going to be my hardware of choice for Redneck Rampage.
