It's not an option, only D3D and Software rendering but there is not glide/3dfx option. This is for the full retail. I have come across some mentioning that it was an option on the demo but not the retail.

No. It's Direct3D only, and a software renderer (which hilariously you can also pipe through to the Voodoo via ddraw blitting).

Glide's just for the early demo (which also used ADPCM streams for music, not done by the final game either)
EDIT: Actually it might not use Glide at all but really vendor-strict D3D5 (to ensure the demo has the most feature-complete and consistent experience at the time of its production (March '98)).

The "glide" demo uses palettized textures and is d3d only.
The updated version has the "software/d3d" switch.
