The rompler section of the synth seems to work fine, but I'm mainly trying to get the Virtual Acoustic part to work. The trouble is that every time I try to play a song, I get a whole bunch of sequential MMSYSTEM001 and MMSYSTEM003 errors that may be preventing the VA part from working.

The machine I'm using to run the program is a Compaq with Windows 98se installed, since that's one of the only operating systems that the program can even be installed in. Perhaps I don't have sufficient MIDI drivers installed?

Try running them through the internet archive. I've been able to download long-defunct software that way a few times. You can also try googling the file name.
