3D Device Setup utility complains about my GeForce 2 GTS not being a supported card, the game crashes to desktop shortly after launch.

Windows Me, DirectX 9.0, Game patched to 4.42, driver is nVidia 45.23

All help appreciated.

Have you tried the DirectX 8 drivers from the NFS3 modern patch? I remember finding a thread where someone was unable to get NFS3 and 4 to work with Geforce2 cards, but then managed to fix it by installing the DirectX 8 thrash driver from the NFS3 modern patch.
