I've got Inertia Player 1.2 on an old Toshiba Satellite Pro 400CDT. It has an ESS688 sound chip. When I run the isetup program to configure the sound device, I select the options required to get it working with my sound chip, but when I load the main program it just displays random characters on screen and the PC speaker lets out a continous tone until I power off the laptop. I'm trying to use either the SB Pro or vanilla SB option, because that's what the ESS688 emulates. It autodetects an SB16 for whatever reason, which allows the program to load, but it will obviously not play audio. I can get it to play audio if I select the PC speaker as an output device. I'm pretty sure I had this working in the past on my 410CDT, which is identical except for a higher res screen. What gives?
