I have this "error creating configuration file" problem in many sierra on line games. I unzip the games (zip files) through my windows 95 and then i run them in dos but i have this problem. I want to change the sound cards settings for instance (to use the Roland MT32) but the changes cannot be saved.

I've seen this if you just copy the CD-rom versions of the games onto a HDD directly since the contents on the CD-Rom are in read only mode to begin with.
