I'm running Windows 3.1 through dosbox (thanks to this forum!) so I assume this thread belongs here but mods can move it into dosbox if it belongs there.

I'm trying to install My First Amazing World Explorer (hereafter "fawe") via a mounted ISO file, but every time I run the setup file inside Windows, the installation hits an error saying that it can't change the properties of C:\Windows\System\wing32.dll. When I go to the file explorer, I can't find wing32.dll in that location. So I reinstall the winG drivers and check in that location- wing32.dll is back. When I try to install fawe, I get the same message and wing32.dll vanishes. Even when I set "read only" or "system" attributes in windows, the installer still eats the dll. Does anyone know what's going on here?
