When double clicking on the executable from Windows 98SE, the game runs consistently, but with significantly lower performance than when restarting to MS-DOS and running the game that way.
However, the game often will not start when running from the DOS prompt. It often hangs at a blank screen, but not always. I haven't figured out the pattern when it works and when it doesn't.
What is different about running a game from Windows 98, compared to from the prompt directly?
