I was wondering if anyone knows anything about Earthworm Jim 3D only giving vertical resolutions as options? I've tried two different copies on both a 98 laptop and an XP laptop and the same thing happens. The only horizontal resolution available is 320x200. All the rest are vertical (like 600x800, or 768x1024). Selecting them makes the screen display sideways. I used to play this game on a 98 machine back in the day and I don't remember this being an issue. I can give more information if needed but has anyone else experienced this?

Kind of a shot in the dark here but do you have the proper video drivers installed? What are the specs of the systems and what resolutions are the laptop panels?

Try the HideDisplayModes ACT fix.

Asus P4P800 SE/Pentium4 3.2E/2 Gb DDR400B,
Radeon HD3850 Agp (Sapphire), Catalyst 14.4 (XpProSp3).
Voodoo2 12 MB SLI, Win2k drivers 1.02.00 (XpProSp3).

Yeah I have the exact video drivers for my onboard video. And the systems resolutions are 320x240, 640x480, 800x600, and 1024x768. It does offer higher ones in the video's control panel but they either don't work or are larger than the screen.

Using Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME Graphics controller. 9MB video. The drivers don't seem to be certified but they are the correct drivers for this chip. Most games have no issues at all.
