I'm trying to figure out what's happening here.

I'm running Warcraft 2 on my DOS machine. Whenever I just run it, CD audio will not work, no matter if it's enabled or disabled in game and no matter where the volume slider for CD audio is. Now if I quit the game and go into my audiodriver and run ESSVOL.exe, it shows CD audio is at 0. If I set it to 8 and run Warcraft 2 again there is still no audio and if I quit out again ESSVOL shows CD audio is 0 again.

Now if I set it to 8 again but then edit the war2.lni to set cdaudio=0 and then enable cd audio in game, it works. I get cd audio and if I quit the game and look at ESSVOL.exe, cd audio volume is still 8.

My problem is that this wasn't always the case, also I don't wanna change the ini every time I run the game so, does anybody have a hunch what's happening here? thank you~
