Allo !

I have been forced to use Win7 64bit on a new laptop that replaced my old, and while I have beaten most things into submission, there's one serious thing left that I have been unable to figure out which is accessing password protected shares of win98SE.
Shares that don't have password work just fine, but ones with password ask for login and it doesn't matter at all what I enter, the prompt always returns.

All the resources I can find are for the other way access, getting access to shares of Win7+ from Win9x, and with that part I don't have any problems. I have done the NT LM security level lowering and other things but this seems not to have any effect on the problem I am actually having.

Current highly inconvenient workaround is using a location without password as a middleman, and using 9x or XP machine to juggle the data into right place from there. Getting rid of passwords is not an option.

Does anyone have any solutions or hints to what I should try ?

Did you install "dsclient.exe" on the Windows 98 System, to have NTLMv2 support there?
I also recall that you should have the same user/password combination on each system.

DSCLIENT.EXE was the missing bit, I installed it on the target machine and now I could access the shares. Thank you very much ~
