After having some issues with my motherboard and battery, I'm ready to set it up.

So I read a bit about device drivers and learned a bit about XDVD2 and SHSUCDX.
However I've hit a roadblock: after loading config.sys, XDVD says:

No PCI BIOS to use! No drive to use; XDVD2 not loaded.

Does this mean XDVD2 is only for those late 1994 motherboards that had both ISA and the new PCI slots?
I don't have a working CDROM unit. (busted belt, waiting for replacement band) I was hoping to use XDVD2 with SHSUCDX and SHSUHD to load CD images in DOS 6.22.
I guess the OAK and VIDE drivers should work too?
