Has anyone seen this before??

I've got a 12MHz 286 machine, with 8MB RAM and two identical WD 40MB "stepper-motor" IDE hard drives. When installing Windows 3.1, it would always hang right after the 3rd disk (when it switches to the graphical part of the install). I tried everything to troubleshoot, and it wasn't until I disabled the second hard drive that it proceeded with the install normally. In-fact, as long as this second hard drive is disabled, Windows works great. As soon as I enable the second drive, it hangs at the splash screen.

The second drive is properly partitioned, formatted and indeed contains data. Both drives are identical models.

Any ideas?
