I spotted this in an eBay listing and got curious. Apparently it's a collection of assembly libraries that you call from within BASIC to extend its functionality. Does anyone have any more information, such as what kind of routines it provided?

I also found this book listing on Google:

I did a bit of a google search as well, there isn't much info. I found this google books link:

https://books.google.com.au/books?id=HXDkCoqM … ramming&f=false

It basically (no pun intended) reiterate what you're saying, that it is a library to extend BASIC. It doesn't say which BASIC though, I guess it can/could be used with GW-BASIC back in the day. You'd probably had to use BLOAD or something to load a binary routine into memory and call that somehow.

No idea on what type of functionality it provides though...

I did my usual Google search "site:cd.textfiles.com probas" in the hope that they might have a white paper on it or something, but the results actually included:

PBCLON16.ZIP 283053 911104 PBClone: ASM/BASIC lib. Replaces ProBas/ADVBAS

PBCLON17.ZIP B 316759 920121 PBClone: ASM/BASIC lib. Replaces ProBas/ADVBAS

PBCLON20.ZIP B 399272 921107 PBClone: ASM/BASIC lib. Replaces ProBas/ADVBAS

If you grab one of those it might say what parts of ProBas it does and does not clone.
