Hey there.

I modded Paku Paku 1.6 slightly so it displays colors on CGA Composite and lets you adjust the screen. Tested on 2 different TV sets.
I creatively named it Paku Paku 1.61.
How to make it work:

  1. Make sure you have an original CGA or a fully compatible card.
  2. Start the game with /tv commandline switch, like this:
    PAKU.EXE /TV
  3. Now you should be able to:
    • See colors
    • Move screen Left/Right with -/+ keys
    • Toggle contrast with C key (this might shift the screen for some monitors/TV)

If you're not using /tv switch, there are no changes to the video-related routines at all.
If the game doesn't detect a CGA card, /tv switch will do absolutely nothing. It also shouldn't do anything if you're using RGBi monitor with CGA, but I don't have one to test it.
If the game does detect a CGA card, /tv switch will enable certain hotkeys and display additional info on the game screen.

Since the original game is fully opensourse and essentially unlicened, I decided to just share this with the world.
I am not the original author of Paku Paku. I messaged him through his website but never got a response.

I packed this release in the same fashion 1.6 is packed: you have the game, the source code and HTML help file, all of them updated with relevant info.

I also might or might not have added a God Mode cheat code but it's classified.
