I'm trying to install Windows for Workgroups 3.11 on a VirtualBox VM. However, it's not working. Here is what I did to get to this stage.
I booted off of the setup disk for DOS 6.22 (this is the Enhanced Tools edition). I made a partition on the VHD image with fdisk, and formatted it with /s. I then installed DOS and the Supplementary Tools.
I had a disk image with CTMOUSE on it so I could get the mouse working.
Now this is the important part.
I select the WFW 3.11 setup disk. As usual, I did A:setup to start. I selected Custom Setup, as I usually do with old Windows.
Computer: MS-DOS System with APM
Display: VGA (I use VBoxSVGA driver, but selecting any SVGA mode crashes)
Mouse: Microsoft, or IBM PS/2
Keyboard: Enhanced 101 or 102-key US and non-US keyboards
KB Layout: British
Language: English (Int'l)
The remainder of the text-mode setup goes smoothly. Until that is, it tries to start Windows. When that happens: I get two errors:
Error 1:
Application Error:
WINSETUP caused a General Protection Fault in module <unknown>0EF7:A013WINSETUP will close.
After I close the first one, I get another.
Error 2:
Application Error:
WINSETUP caused a General Protection Fault in module KRNL386.EXE at 0001:9F11.
When I press close on both errors, I get sent back to a C:\WINDOWS> prompt.
No matter what settings I change, it always gives me those same 2 errors.
My main question is, does anybody know what is causing this, and, if possible, how do I resolve it?
Thank you for your patience.

Note: My VBox version is 6.0.24 (the last version that does not require VT-x to run).
