Hi! Earlier today, I tried installing DataEase 4.5 onto a folder on the desktop through DOSBox-X and got an error crating a folder. I had similar problems with other applications when I tried to install them on the desktop. I then tried to install DataEase on a RAM drive, and it worked. 😀 If you have problems installing to the desktop on recent Windows systems, try an unprotected folder, a RAM drive or removable media.
