I've installed both Myst and Myst: Masterpiece Edition on my Win 98 rig (hardware details can be found in my signature), and although both seem to run fine, I can't get the transition effect to work in either of them. I've toggled it in the menu, but I get no transitions between the screens in-game. Is there any way to get this working properly?

I really liked that effect when I played Myst as a kid, it contributed to the game's eerie atmosphere. This kind of ruins the whole experience for me now 🙁

WinXP rig: HP RP5800 - Pentium G850/2GB RAM/GF GT530 1GB
Amiga: A600/2MB RAM
PS3: Slim model, 500GB HDD, mostly for RetroArch, PSX & PS2 games

You're running Windows in 256-color mode, right?

Actually, the Masterpiece Edition uses 24-bit color. I'll try that with the classic version though.

Yeah, no, in 256-color mode transitions don't work either.
