Hey guys, i just got a sound blaster audigy 2 SB0240. I have the card installed in a p4 build. The card is working just fine but I can't get SB16 emulation working. Can anyone tell me how to set this card up to use SB16?

Hi.
SB16 emulator is not supported on Windows NT to my knowledge. Use Windows 98/98SE/ME with Windows 9x drivers. Then it should work in Windows and DOS mode. But if you have a problem in DOS real mode, read this thread: Struggling to get SB16 Emulation working with Audigy 2ZS in Win98 to have clues. If you are running your games from Windows, check under System Properties under Sound Video and Game Controllers / SB16 Emulation what virtual base address/IRQ/DMA is used and configure your games accordingly.

Hey thanks for the reply. I currently have Windows 98SE installed on the p4 build. I have used the Audigy 2zs vxd driver pack that Joseph_Joestar created and it installed all the drivers for the card, but the SB16 emulation has a yellow exclamation point issue in the device manager. When i try to set the resources manually it causes a BSOD. I'm not sure if the driver pack I'm using is compatible with this card. I have downloaded the Audigy 2 Installation CD from Vogons Drivers but I haven't burned it to a CD yet. I was going to see if I could get the card working using that driver pack before messing with the driver CD.

Did you correctly follow all the steps from my guide?

Specifically, step 5.5 explains what to do with the SB16 emulation device which has a yellow exclamation mark.

Hey Josph_Joestar, No I did not use your guide for the installation. In the past I have used your driver pack with a few Live! OEM cards, an audigy SB0090 as well as the Audigy 2 zs SB0350, and i never had to run through windows "Add Hardware" feature in control panel to setup the SB emulation. I just took a look at your guide and did exactly what you said in part 5.6, after that SB16 is working. Thanks for the tip, also thanks for making this driver pack, it has worked on all my sound blaster cards i have tested with it so far, and now the SB0240 is on that list. I'm about to reboot into MS_DOS mode and do some gaming and see how this card sounds. Thanks for all the help.
