Hi everyone!

I’m having trouble getting my Sound Blaster Live! Model CT4760 (with EMU10K-SEF chip) to work with my Windows 98 SE gaming rig.

Windows detects my card as a Multimedia Device, but attempting to install drivers, always results in failure.
I’ve tried downloading and installing several drivers and Install CDs from the VOGONS Vintage Driver Library, but none of them have worked for me.

Here are the drivers/Install CDs I’ve tried:
- Sound Blaster Live! CT4760 Installation CD
- Sound Blaster Live! Install VXD 4.05.1026
- Sound Blaster Live! Intsall VXD 4.06.654
- Sound Blaster Live! Install VXD 4.06.704 Liveware 3.0
- Sound Blaster Live! Install VXD 4.12.01.0905 + WDM
- Sound Blaster Live! Install VXD 4.12.01.0905 + WDM Retail
- Sound Blaster Live! Install WDM CT4830 CT4832 CT4760
- Sound Blaster Live! Install VXD 4.06.610 Liveware 2.0
- Sound Blaster Live! Intsall VXD 4.06.622 Lifeware 2.1
- Sound Blaster Live! Value PCI 512 5.1 Sept 2001 WDM
- Sound Blaster Live! WDM Drivers for Windows 98

I’m at a loss here. What am I doing wrong? Which driver do I actually need to install and how?
Also, how can I identify what exact Sound Blaster Live! (CT4760) I have? Is it a Value or Platinum?
My model has gold plated connectors.

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or experience on how to resolve this issue.
Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Please bear in mind, that I'm a novice and have little experience with Sound Cards.
