I have two CT1740 Soundblaster 16s. One is clean with a v4.12 DSP and another that’s rusty with a V4.05 DSP chip. If I swap them would it be compatible with the rest of the hardware?

Until I hear otherwise I’ll assume that would cause issues with other IC version differences. I’ve cleaned up the board with contact cleaner, isopropyl, and a soft brass brush. I’ll give it a try in my DOS box next week to see if it lives.
I'd swap both DSP chips for a new one to solve the hanging note bug and other minor issues.
That is awesome. Ill read through it and report back if I can figure it out.
The TLDR of the project...
Re: The Soundblaster DSP project
And the 4.13 (version 5) release of the DSP code.

Parts have been ordered, I'll let you know when I get it put together.
