MPU-401 Gameport Midi on ESS688F based ISA Sound Card

Any methods on getting a Midi signal to output the Joystick Gameport on an ESS688F based ISA soundcard? Part Label P057-01-A09

I have tried ENMPU.EXE and SOFTMPU.EXE TSRs with no luck. I'm up for any suggestions.

Picture Attached to this message of the ISA Soundcard.

Also does anyone know what the DipSwitches do on this card?

Do you have the drivers installed? Unlike with later ESS chips, the 688 requires a driver to permanently loaded for the MPU-401 interface to work.

MIDI might be disabled.

Not really having any luck finding info on that specific card.

Saw this in another thread and although it is a different ES688F based card, maybe the jumper settings will shed some light.

Plugged in the midi cable and voila.. it works .

Next step, make sure the MPU TSR is loading properly.
