on my old wintergreen computer, back when it was running win98, I used the vxd drivers, and the midi synth sounded worse than the msgs, but not by mutch.

Lolo, could you reupload your recordings? megaupload got shut down a couple years ago because the US government was being a bitch.

I got Doom E1M2 (Nuclear Plant) recorded in OPL3 mode on my CT2290 as a test. But it seems there's some noise in the recording - noticeable in the intro. It's tonal and I suspect might be interference from the system. What can I try in order to reduce it? I'm not entirely convinced it's the SB16.
