I really like the idea used for brackets, I'll possibly use the same method for one project of my own.

Me, too. Reminds me of one of my father's DIY projects. He once built a case for a ham radio out of PCB pieces.

I use PCB as a mounting or casing material pretty often.

Would you by any chance mind sharing the .pcb files for those brackets? Might be an awesome alternative/budget option for the ARGUS.

For the cards because the cards can use different models of sid chips, is it more convenient to use both kinds of caps for each chip model and then select which one to use via a jumper or dip switch? or it is too difficult to implement?

if you want a more professinal look for your expansion cards, you can use also a proper metal isa bracket, you can find them on mouser, but the pcb one or 3d printed should be ok too, but the metal one for me just looks more professional https://www.mouser.it/ProductDetail/534-9202

Which one? SSI-2001 replica? Or DuoSID?
Replica is pretty much done, I don't have an intention to do any more batches of kits or assembled boards. Probably only bare PCBs if there will be any demand.
DuoSID is at full power, probably will start sell soon. Software-wise it is the same as two SSI-2001 in your PC. But with more configuration options, cleaner sound output, more available clocks and almost on the same size board.
And FMonster thing is in development...

At the same place as EMU8000, GF1, WaveFront and anything else. The name of the card (in the works) is FMonster. FM Synth board. It will be big and expencive as it is.
I don't know if I will put any existing mixer chip (software controlled) or I'll just stick with fixed mix or individual volume trimmers. I didn't research mixer chips yet.
Also I want to put MPU-401 interface with DB15 connector and WaveBlaster header, but it reqires additional space and routing. It would be cool to have "all-in-one" FM Synth board with proper MPU-401, so you can plug in any Wavetable synth(s) into it. And add any "normal PCM (+wavetable synth) board" you like.
For example, GUS as a second board, MT-32, SoundCanvas on the DB15 in chain and Yamaha Synth on WaveBlaster header. Killer config with just two boards. And FMonster in ISA 8-bit.

Also, I probably should open a separate thread for this...

Are you already selling those cards? I may be interested to pick one up.

Not yet.
It's kinda... I've made the project, bought all the boards and parts to produce kits and assembled boards... And put it into the box. Didn't really get time to work on releasing or selling it.
I think I should, though.
I've just transitioned from DuoSID development straight to FMonster development (where parts of DuoSID were used). 😐
Does anybody else is interested in DuoSID?

That is a very nice looking board and it has all the options anyone would ever seem to need. I have one question. The edge contacts of the old board are gold whereas the new board look silver in color. This suggests a HASL finish. I hope you aren't planning on using HASL in production boards.

Well, those white boards were ordered as production boards. What's so wrong with HASL, not durable enough for thousand insertions?
Because I have about 30 perfectly fine boards with HASL finish edge connector without bevels... You suggest throwing those into a bin? Works fine in my systems.
