Ok... not 100% sure about how stuff is setup when they changed the name to Miles Sound System.

However, if you have a game that has some file that have a .dig extension and uses SETSOUND.EXE to setup the sound device, you should be able to add Wavejammer support to it if it doesn't already support it.
Basically you just get the driver files.
1. All .dig files
2. AILDRVR.LST (you can open this to get instructions on what to select for your card as well as how the card needs to be set up) - Basically select the Wavejammer for digital audio and Adlib for music.
3. Setsound.exe

You probably only need the first 2 but unsure if the different versions of AIL would need different versions of the .DIG files or not.

Just replace those files with the ones from a game that directly supports it and you should be golden.

Here is a supposed list of the games that directly support the Wavejammer.

Now it's getting more clear. Thnak you!
I have found .dig files and Wavjammer support in Warcraft2, Heroes2 and GTA1.
But there is no .dig file in Abuse for instance, though it's on the list that you put the link to. Maybe WJ support was dropped at some point. Will look into this further.
At least I can see some traces. But I'd prefer to have WJ support in some older games, so that my old laptop that has no bulit in sound could run them.

Abuse doesn't use the AIL/Miles Design library but the Human Machine Interfaces one instead, that's why there's no .dig files.
The demo version doesn't support the Wavjammer, the full version does:

I'm now waiting for my Wavjammer to arrive to try this all out.

I'm still looking for a dongle for mine, if anyone has one still after losing their card.

I sent you a possible link for one about a year ago, did you try it?

So I finally received my Wavjammer card.
It's working fine in DOS as Adlib music source, however I did not manage to set it up for the
games that support it directly.
There are two drivers for DOS - WJSSENAB.EXE and WAVJAMMR.EXE
WJSSENAB.EXE requires only Socket Services loaded. Diagnostic
program detects the card and all tests are passed. It's also possible to set differet port
addresses. The card works in games if Adlib is selected. But the card doesn't work in games
that natively support it. Tried it in Abuse. I can select the card type and port, but test sample
doesn't play and conputer hangs.
WAVJAMMR.EXE requires both Socket Services and Card Services. Then it seems to
configure the card fine, sets port and irq. But Diagnostic program does not detect the card at all.
Let alone the games. It does not even work in Adlib mode.
Any ideas what am I doing wrong?
Edit: I'm using an IBM laptop and tried compatibility command line options - did not help.

It's an IBM Thinkpad 360CE attached to 3545-001 docking station with a ESS 1868F sound card in it (drivers were not loaded). I still have to try the WJ on the laptop without the dock. Maybe there are some conflicts there anyway. Not sure about the chipset. DOS 7.0 (W95)
There is a mess in config and autoexec now, I have a lot of stuff in there. 😊 I need to clean all up and will post later on today.

I tried it before, but it said no PCI detected or something like this. It does not detect old chipsets unfortunately.

I believe I followed-up on this but didn't receive a response. I'll try again; thank you.

Did you specify the /COMP=GAMES switch as well?

Found this in the wj.hlp file:

Yes, I tried the /c=games switch. But the problem is that only WAVJAMMR.EXE supports this switch. And it still does not work at all. Even in adlib mode.
With WJSSENAB.EXE enabler the card works fine as Adlib; and shows some signs of life at F40 port in WJ native mode. In Abuse setup it produces some sounds, like (Toy.. toy.. toy.. toy..). Now I'm not sure that's the correct sound. If SB is selectet the sample is different, and it does not start with "Toy".
I've tried all obvious combinations of SS, SC, EMM386 with different X= switches, etc.
As of now setup plays "Toy, toy", and the game hangs upon loading.

Some more experimental data.
I installed Cardsoft (release 5.30.10) drivers. The new thing now is that if I use WAVJAMMR.EXE - it passes all tests in diagnostic program.
Abuse still does not start, but setup does not hang during sound test, but doesn't make sounds either 😀
Still no sound in Adlib mode. 😵
with WJSSENAB.EXE - works as Adlib, as before.
Hope all these experiments do not turture the card too much.

BTW PCMCIA controller is Ricoh RF5C366

I'm sorry to clutter up this topic with my Wavjammer quest. I don't mind if the TS or moderators move everything to separate thread.
I'm just windering if anyone has actually made the card work in DOS with games that support it directly (i.e. not Adlib, but digital sound)?
