how much do the clone cards cost..
im looking for an interface that is compatible with sequencer+ gold by voyetra
http://www.oldschooldaw.com/forums/index.php?topic=2368.0
ive tried to document some of the compatible interfaces here

is there a download for this sequencer so I can test? I don't think there would be any problems running it unless it looks for a specific mpu to run.
sales thread is over at amibay: http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?77213-Mu … bit-card-clones

edit:
just saw the free download info and requirements, don't see a reason why it wouldn't work with a PCMIDI card

check this out this magazine appears to show how to make your own midi card with 2 in 2 out... i wonder which card it is + if its mpu compatible
it has detailed instructions + blueprints inside

re: PC MIDI card usable with SEQ+GOLD? yes of course there is a driver written especially for this type of card!!

my question is whether or not it will allow me to use more than one card to achieve more than one midi output port
i sent u a pm about this just now! and i found some interesting information on my page about the voyetra interfaces from
a newsgroup post from way back in november of 1990

its interesting because originally this program DID REQUIRE MPU-401 in the first 2 or 3 versions of the program
but they stepped away from mpu-401 compatibility when these V22 + V24 interfaces were released in order to break the boundaries that were associated with the mpu-401 standard
so they built their own driver API which they called VAPI and this allowed them to create these more functional interfaces for the apps which allowed more features that
were not possible with the mpu-401 architecture.. such as muting on the fly of notes being played + i think midi patchbay features... + the ability to have multiple interfaces working
together as one... they built their own custom standard which they had more control over.. this all began with version 4.0 of the SEQ+GOLD app + the release of the V22 + V42 interfaces in late 1990.
the time of this announcement i found . seen here --> http://www.oldschooldaw.com/forums/index.php? … msg2551#msg2551

That schematic you found is for a single/dual UART-mode mpu interface , just like the one on SB cards - as far as I can tell. It lacks the "roland intelligent mode" features but I assume SEQ+GOLD doesn't care about them...

I do have 2 MPUs here so I can test whatever you want provided you describe the process and give me the needed files. I can setup one MPU at port 300 and the other at port 330 with different IRQs, this is no problem for me. But on the software side I'll need guidance .

Then all one has to do is strap on a microcontroller to provide metronome and the rest of the intelligent functions... like HardMPU

@keropi: I saw over at AmiBay, that the PCBs you ordered for a new batch of clone cards was lost. Do you think you will ever produce new clone cards? If not, could you please reconsider open-sourcing the design files (schematics, PCB layout, PAL fuse maps, ...)? An alternative would be to offer pre-burned EEPROMs and PALs for sale. That way you could generate a bit of revenue for the expenses you had so far.

anyone interested there are some more clones available on AmiBay , assembled by Marmes : http://www.amibay.com/showthread.php?85759 - they are the same as the ones I offered quite some months ago 😀
