Roland User wrote:And more not reset if player XG Files ing GM2 mode... earlier it was reset always to GM2 mode.

An XG midi file will always send a GM Reset command and only then XG Reset command after that.
Sound Canvas ignores the XG Reset command (obviously) and you stay in GM mode.

This was fixed as I pointed in 2:

For the sake of cleanliness, please stop spamming this thread.
If you have several things to say, please edit your previous post.

BTW, nobody is going to download your file, might as well be a virus.

No, I did not order the spam, and to confirm that the error you described corrected. That's because the XG composition initially sent GM Reset, and only after that XG Reset.

Download this: http://www.vogonsdrivers.com/getfile.php?fileid=419 (Clicky!).
Inside there will be MT32EMUL.MID that will switch the SC-VA to CM-64 mode.
Or an exe file that does the same: "scmode exe mt32".
Anything else?

This was also mentioned several posts before.
Please try to read the thread or use the search button.

This a separate file , but I'm on the regime in the SCVA )
After all, CM-64 there is in maps ) why this mode absent in mode list ?

Where to get GS Advanced Editor ? This Software It comes complete with SoundCanvas SC-D70 )

James-F
I mean it

But that interested , why maps limited SC-8820 ? Why not SC-8850 ? How to learn this ?

Also interesting , what is CM-64 PCM Map ? And Why in this mode so many duplicate ? Example Piano2 or Slap Bass 1 or any other instrument.

I just checked the SC-8820 manual.
SC-VA is like SC-8820, you can't actually select CM-64 Map from the panel (it has no buttons) like in previous models.
You have to activate it with a special midi file (my previous post).

As for the GS Advanced Editor, I can't find it either.

Yes, but I'm not the address for feature requests, I think I made that clear.
CM-64 can be accessed with CC00=126 and CC00=127 (bank) then just switch the patch to 1-127.
This is done when you compose music in your DAW.
Or use the MT32 Midi file to switch to CM-64 mode before you play a MT-32 game.

Use MUNT for that, you don't need CM-64, give it a rest buddy.

And here there is idea. What else combine works ? I mean Roland SoundCanvas VA and MUNT in one big Roland software synthesizer ?
Maybe we get full correct MT-32 emulator and SoundCanvas emulator )

James-F
All the same, bug detected ) yes , only just in GM mode ) error with drum select ) when use GM mode , must have only Standard Drum kit.

MT-32 is a lot older and MUNT emulates it to perfection.
MT-32 software synthesizer from Roland is NEVER going to happen.
Cheers.

Of the requests could want in the settings SC-VA volume gain... e.g. such values from -12 dB to +12 dB in global volume. This need because often be quiet sound in compare with other synthesizers.
Using VST Host uncomfortably , SAVIHost comfortably , but not have amp volume

Example.
It has no correlation with the Master volume knob in sequancers. 0 = 127 , +6 = AMP over 0 dB if this need )

The General MIDI Standard drum kit. The only kit specified by General MIDI Level 1.
Although games like Duke Nukem 3D uses Power kit, or Warcraft uses Orchestra kit, it is not part of the General Midi 1 standard.

I don't see a problem.

The volume is purposely made quiet for SC-VA not to distort the audio when a lot of instrument play together.
On the contrary, it is a good sign that Roland knows what they are doing, I tell you that as a musician.

S-YXG50 for example will distort the sound if more than 3 instruments are playing together.
I set S-YXG50 to -10db output so that it matches SC-VA and does not distort the instruments.

Please read this post attentively, I know english is not your native language.

But , i'm say , what 0 dB must be so as have now. I'm also said , what need additional ranges in amp sound. If user wants use this option.

If you want to add gain (boost volume) you have to use SC-VA in a DAW and add gain in the channel.
And I said that lower volume is good for sound canvas VA.
Roland User, no more feature requests please, I am NOT the address.

Roland User you are now on my Ignore list

Oh, thanks... ((((

I can still read your posts if I open them.

No. I'm do not write you more.

For All
I'm wanted that Roland added Volume gain. But not default gain to maximum , and given the right to the user select pre-gain. Where 0 dB play 1:1 as now... above 0 db example +1.0 dB gain and etc.

I did not offer set all in maximum as done in S-YXG50 VST.
But i offer give user right select gain on output.
And exactly this adjustment amp on output.

For example... this : https://temp-share.com/f/ktjolrhqzk/6e1 ... 61027f364e already not gain amplified in DAW editors , but sounds quiet.
What me do ? Add velocity key ? Then will be change timbre and music will be not true play as must .

Because you do not understand , what I said about General MIDI Level 1 aka GM. In GM must used only Standard 1 Drum Kits

Concerning Duke Nukem 3D , WarCraft , Arkania2 and other games , so is because this games use GS standerd always.
Even if instruments mapped as GM , drum kit always mapped as GS.
