Ok, I'd like to keep tracking of rarest PC soundcards and available owners (if they do not mind to see a nickname in the table).

Created this spreadsheet:
Google Docs

Please correct men and add missing info.

The Adlib Gold and the IBM Music Feature are two of the rarest DOS sound cards. The LAPC-I, the Game Blaster and Ensoniq SoundScape Elite also command quite a hefty price.

If we talking about rare PC soundcards, for me the most rarest sound is:
- Innovation SSI-2001 (never see this board for sale, don't know who own this board, but now we have a replica available)
- Adlib Gold 1000 (only 3-4 vogons member has this board)
- IBM Music Feature (lot people has, me too)
- Omni Labs AudioMaster AMS-8000 (only one known vogon member)
less rarity (almost every soundcard collector has most this boards):
- Roland LAPC-I
- Pro Audio Spectrum 8bit and PAS+
- Creative Game Blaster
- Ensoniq SoundScape Elite
- Creative SB Pro1 (dual OPL2) (clone - Sound Commander FX)
- Covox Sound Master, Voice Master, Sound Master + (carlostex and Elianda own), Sound Master II
- MediaTrix AudioTrix Pro (3D-XG ?)
- AVM Apex (maybe?)
- Gravis Ultrasound Extreme
- Core Dynamics DYNASonix 3D/PRO (Gus pnp clone with additional features)
- TurtleBeach Multisound Classic
- Yamaha SW60XG
All other boards is more or less available for sale and not worth to mention here.

And if we adding midi dautherboards - there are some rare, like:
- Ensonuq SoundScape DB
- Terratec Wave XTable
- Yamaha DB60XG (original, not NEC XR385)
- Korg AI20 (Trust Korg Super Sound Module / Guillemot Korg Wave Upgrade)
- Korg clones (MediaVision Pro Wave / X Technology TopWave 32)
- Orchid Wavebooster /2,/4,/4fx (never see for sale)
- Creative WaveBlaster 1 CT1900

Did I remember something?

You forgot the Covox cards: Covox Sound Master, Voice Master(someone got this card recently),Sound Master + (AFAIK only me and Elianda own one), Sound Master II.

There's also the Sound Commander FX that seems to be a Sound Blaster Pro 1 clone.

You also forgot the AudioTrix 3D-XG which seems to be far less common than the Pro.

And yes, I forgot

Does they differ only by dautherboard card?

On the subject of rarity, just how many people here on this forum have an AdLib Gold 1000? I know that Cloudschatze does (complete with PCM module) and believe Beegle does as well, but who else owns one of these cards besides me if you don't mind me asking?

I have two, one boxed in shrinkwrap, one loose. No modules.

If you're keeping track, I have the PC version of the Mockingboard which was never released. It was bundled with Bank Street Music Writer, and I believe I'm the last person in the world to have one. It sounds just like a mockingboard.

Back to auction watching...

BTW the original Covox Sound Master is also very rare, i would say almost on the level of the Innovation SSI-2001. 2 Vogons members own one, (Yvan256 and moturumi) and this is one of the designs that we are trying to clone. If i ever get one, it will be put for dissection including GAL cracking.

It's a YMF-715 based card but with much better design and quality components than regular OPL3-SAx cards. These cards have better analog output than AWE64 Gold.

Besides the PC Mockinboard that Trixter mentioned there's also the precursor to the (presumably) Innovation SSI-2001 card, The Entertainer. This is a card that was mentioned in the game Gunship documentation and apparently is supported by 2 games only, the former mentioned Gunship and Pirates!.

There's also rumours of a Tandy 1000 sound developer board but at least Mark Seibert never heard of one. Discussion here. Hopefully we will have a prototype this year.

Rich Heimlich also mentioned a card named Hearsay 1000.

Can we count this board, if they was newer released? (Do you have a photo?)

This can be some early devboards, that was never released?

I wouldn't call the SW-60XG rare though, is it?

Yeah. The SW60XG isn't that rare. I had two, sold them. It's much more difficult to find an Orchid Nusound.
I also had a Wave Xtable. Sold it, not worth for retro.

Couple of questions;

1. If one were to already own something in the spreadsheet, would the owner only add their nickname next to the other owners?
2. If so, would a variant of something already in the list need to be entered separately? Assuming the variant is significantly different.
3. Can we add cards we don't own, but know to exist somewhere out there?

Edit: Umm... Either I don't know how to run Google Docs that well, or I can't add anything to the sheet as there is no more room for sound cards. I'll try again, but I don't want to start hitting buttons because I'd rather not bust the sheet.
Edit 2: Yup, can't add new rows.

Got one for you Re: indentify gus max clone
There are 2 cards of this that i know. One i still own, one i traded.

Are you the guy who also posted the clones on the Pouet BBS? Because one of the clones looks like it was made by the same factory as yours. Also from the Netherlands:
