Hey gang

Just wanted some advice on a SB AWE32 purchase. I am considering this as it is a reasonable price CT3990:

Just looks a bit suspect as the ram slots are bit different than expected and it has a sticker on the EMU8000 chip...could it be a knock off?

The other card I am considering (but is a hefty bit more 🤑 is a CT2760. I've done a bit of thread reading and it seems this is a popular choice around here for best AWE32...

Gonna throw the purchase in my AMD DX4-100 computer to replace a Vibra CT2260.

I am not particularly knowledgeable about all the creative models, but that second one looks like it sports an OPL whereas the first one might not.

first one looks like it has creatives opl, CQM. Second (obv, much more expensive) has all the bells and whistles. the second one is 2760 which was the first? awe32. no pnp, its all jumpers. 2760 is good choice if its not expensive

I went with the CT3990. I listened to some comparisons online, and I don't really mind the Creative OPL vs Yamaha at all... Looking forward to cranking that Wavetable Synth!
